How to: Resolve IRQ (Interrupt Request) conflict.
Solution:
Open 'System' from 'Control Panel' and use 'Device Manager' to change the IRQ setting of the conflicting device.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)

3) Double-click the 'System' icon. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'Device Manager' tab. (The system devices are displayed.)

5) Select the 'Computer' icon, and click 'Properties'.

6) Click 'Properties'. (The 'Computer Properties' dialog box appears.)

7) Select the 'Interrupt request (IRQ)' radio button. (The dialog box lists the devices with interrupt assignments and radio button name.)
8) Locate the IRQ in conflict.
NOTE: The IRQ in conflict will be identified by a small yellow circle with a black 'i' its the center that will appear on the device icon associated with the IRQ line.
9) Record which interrupts are not assigned.
10) Click 'OK'.
11) Select the 'View devices by type' radio button.
12) Select the type of device to expand the list of components.
EXAMPLE: Double-click 'Sound, video and game controllers' to view the list of multimedia devices on the computer.
13) Double-click on the device reporting the IRQ conflict. (The '<Device> Properties' dialog box appears, where <Device> is the name of a selected device.)

14) Click the 'Resources' tab.
15) Select the 'Interrupt Request' in the 'Resource settings' list box.
16) If the 'Use automatic settings' check box is selected, clear it.
17) Click 'Change Setting...'. (The 'Edit Interrupt Request' dialog box appears.)

18) Select the interrupt request from the 'Value' list box.
NOTE 1: If the 'No Modifications Allowed' message box appears, this resource cannot be changed.
NOTE 2: If the device is not plug-and-play, you will have to set the resources using hardware jumpers before the resource value can be changed.
19) Click 'OK' to select a new interrupt.
20) Click 'OK' again. (The confirmation box appears.)
21) Click 'Yes' to restart Windows 95.
